On 24 September 2026, the Nova Floor team finished a beautiful herringbone flooring project in a private villa in Emirates Hills, Dubai.
The homeowner wanted the warm look of real oak wood in their large living room. But they did not want the high cost, the careful upkeep, or the water worries that come with solid wood. So they chose SPC flooring in a light oak colour, laid in a classic herringbone pattern.
A Strong Start
Noah Williams managed the project from day one. The room is big and bright, with tall sliding glass doors and a lovely garden view. The old floor was large stone-look tiles.
Noah’s first job was to check if these tiles could stay as the base. The team looked for loose tiles, uneven spots, and gaps. They fixed each problem and made the surface flat and clean. This step matters a lot, because herringbone needs a very smooth floor to look right.
Planning the Pattern
Before laying a single plank, the team planned the layout. They marked the centre of the room and lined up the pattern with the main sliding doors. This way, the design looks balanced from both the entrance and the garden side.
They also mixed planks from different boxes so the wood grain looks natural. The planks were kept in the room for a short time before fitting, so they could adjust to the room’s temperature.
Laying the Floor
The team started from the centre and worked outward, row by row. Every few rows, they stopped to check that the pattern was straight.
At one stage, the room looked half old and half new. One side had warm oak herringbone, and the other side still had plain stone tiles. It showed clearly how much the room was changing with every row.
Handling the Sunlight
The strong sunlight from the glass doors brought one challenge. Bright light shows even the smallest gaps or uneven edges. So Noah asked the team to take extra care near the windows.
They cut and fitted the edge planks neatly and left small gaps along the walls for natural movement. Finally, they added clean white skirting for a sharp, tidy finish.
The Final Result
The finished floor looks calm, bright, and elegant. The light oak colour matches the cream walls, and the herringbone pattern adds style and depth to the large room.
It is also very practical:
- Water-resistant
- Comfortable to walk on
- Easy to clean
- Strong enough for daily family use
This makes it a great fit for a home with garden access and regular foot traffic.
The homeowner was very happy with both the result and the smooth process. This project shows what good planning, skilled work, and careful management can do. It also proves that you can get the look of real parquet flooring in a Dubai villa, with much less maintenance.
