Project Overview
On 22 September 2026, the Nova Floor team arrived at a bright, spacious fitness studio in Dubai Marina. The room had tall glass windows, warm wooden wall panels, and a long mirror wall. It looked great, but the floor was the problem.
The existing floor was hard, smooth, and slippery. It was fine for walking, but not for workouts. The owner told us the same thing many gym owners say: “Members love the space, but the floor doesn’t feel safe or comfortable.”
We understood the concern right away. A gym floor has to do more than look good. It must grip under sneakers, absorb impact, and handle heavy weights day after day.
Choosing the Right Solution
After checking the space, we recommended interlocking rubber tiles in two shades of grey. The tiles are dense and slip-resistant, and the textured surface gives good grip. The puzzle-style edges lock together, so the floor stays in place even under heavy use.
The two-tone grey also suited the modern interior. It matched the concrete panels and wooden slats without making the room feel heavy.
The Installation Day
Our team started by clearing the area and cleaning the surface. Dust and dirt can affect how tiles sit, so this step is never skipped.
Then the tiles went down, one by one. Stacks of black and grey tiles waited by the windows while the installers worked across the room. A simple rubber mallet helped lock each edge tightly. The checkerboard pattern slowly spread across the bare floor.
At one point, half the room was still plain concrete and the other half already looked like a real gym. It was a clear picture of the change.
The Final Result
When the last tile clicked into place, the room felt different. The floor looked neat and professional, and the pattern stretched all the way to the mirror wall. More importantly, it felt right underfoot: firm, cushioned, and stable.
The owner walked across it and said it already felt like a proper training space. Trainers could move weights without worrying about slips, and members would get a safer, quieter workout area.
