Project Overview
The Nova Floor team recently completed a vinyl sheet flooring installation in a Dubai Marina apartment. The project was finished on 1 October 2026 under the supervision of Noah Williams. The apartment was a bright, empty space with floor-to-ceiling windows and a view over the Marina. The goal was simple: replace the bare concrete with a warm, durable, wood-look floor that suits modern city living.
We recommended vinyl sheet flooring for this project for good reasons. It comes in a continuous roll, so there are far fewer joints than with planks or tiles. It is water-resistant, comfortable underfoot, and handles the humidity that comes with living near the sea. The finish chosen was a rich walnut-brown wood pattern with realistic grain.
Preparing the Sub-Floor
Good flooring starts with a good base. Before the vinyl was unrolled, Noah Williams and the team inspected the concrete slab, cleaned it, and removed all dust and debris. A vinyl sheet follows the surface beneath it, so any bump or hollow would show through later. The team checked that the sub-floor was level, smooth, and fully dry.
The room was then measured carefully, and the vinyl was cut to length from the roll. Adhesive was spread across the concrete with a notched trowel in broad, even arcs. This gives a consistent bond across the whole surface, with no thin patches and no excess glue.
Installing the Vinyl Sheet
Installation was done in sections so the adhesive stayed fresh and workable. The installer unrolled the vinyl onto the adhesive, placed it along the edge, and pressed it down by hand, working outward to push out trapped air. Each section was aligned with the wood grain pattern so the planks ran naturally in one direction across the room.
A utility knife was used to trim the vinyl neatly at walls, corners, and the window line. The edges were pressed firmly so that they sat flat and tight against the skirting. Throughout the job, Noah Williams checked alignment, bonding, and finish at each stage, keeping the work clean and on schedule.
The Final Result
The finished floor is a deep walnut-brown surface with a smooth, semi-glossy look. Sunlight from the large windows reflects across it, and the Marina skyline and boats are visible in the background. The seams are barely noticeable, and the surface feels warm and even underfoot.
This project shows what careful preparation and skilled installation can achieve. The result is a stylish floor that is easy to clean, comfortable to live on, and built for everyday use in a Dubai apartment. The Nova Floor team is proud to have delivered it on 1 October 2026.
