Nova Floor team recently completed a full flooring transformation in a two-bedroom apartment in Business Bay, finishing the project on 29 August 2026. It turned out to be one of those jobs where the difference is visible the second you walk in.
How It Started
The clients were a young couple who had just moved into the 14th floor of a tower near the canal. Great view, great location, but the floor was letting the whole place down. Old glossy tiles, cold underfoot, and an echo every time someone crossed the living room.
“We want it to feel like a home, not a hotel lobby,” the wife told our team on the first call.
The Site Visit
We reached the apartment on the same day with a sample case in hand. The team measured every room, checked the subfloor for moisture, and looked at how the afternoon light came through the big living room window.
Five wood tones went down on the floor. The couple kept returning to one: Honey Oak LVT Flooring. Warm golden colour with soft grain lines running through it, not too yellow, not too dark. Against beige curtains and white walls, it looked exactly right.
Then came the obvious question: why not real wood?
Our answer was simple. Dubai’s climate is hard on solid wood. Humidity, constant AC cycles, and the occasional spilled glass all take a toll. Luxury Vinyl Plank gives the same warm look but is fully waterproof, quieter underfoot, and far better at handling daily life. For a couple planning to start a family, that mattered.
The Installation
Work began early in the morning. The team cleared the rooms, cleaned the subfloor, and levelled a few uneven patches near the balcony door. Then the underlay went in, a step some installers skip, but it’s what makes a floor feel solid instead of hollow.
The planks were laid running toward the window, so light travels along the boards rather than cutting across them. A small decision that makes a room look longer than it is.
The careful part was the edges: neat cuts around AC vents, a clean line under the wardrobe, and a proper expansion gap along every wall so the floor can move with temperature changes. Skirting went in last to finish everything off.
Once the work was complete, the team vacuumed, wiped down the planks, and carried out every offcut. No dust trail in the hallway, no mess left behind.
The Result
The couple walked in and just stood there for a moment. The room felt warmer, larger, and much quieter. The echo was gone.
