On 12 September 2026, the Nova Floor team took on a living room makeover in a modern Downtown Dubai apartment, with the Burj Khalifa visible through the windows. The homeowner wanted a floor that felt warm and bright and suited the clean, modern look of the space. Here’s how the project went, from the first plank to the final shine.
The Challenge
The apartment already had a lot going for it. There was a stylish floating TV unit with warm LED lighting, wooden slat panels on the feature wall, and floor-to-ceiling windows with soft sheer curtains. The floor didn’t match the rest of the room, though. The homeowner wanted something that would tie everything together without making the space feel dark or heavy.
After discussing a few options, we recommended light oak laminate flooring. Its soft, natural wood tone works well with beige curtains, white walls, and wooden furniture. It also reflects natural light, which makes a room feel bigger and more open.
Preparing the Space

Around the doorways and the corner leading to the bedrooms, our team cut the planks carefully so the flooring flowed smoothly from one space to the next with no awkward gaps.
The Finishing Touches
Once the planks were down, we fitted neat skirting boards along the walls. They cover the expansion gap and give the room a clean, finished edge. Then we cleaned the whole floor so it was ready to use straight away.
The Result
The change was clear. In daylight, the light oak floor glows softly under the big windows. In the evening, the warm LED strips under the TV unit reflect gently off the surface, giving the room a cozy, hotel-like feel.
