Project Overview
The client had an apartment at Kensington Waters in Sobha Hartland, Nad Al Sheba 1. The old floor looked plain and did not match the modern style the client wanted. They asked Nova Floor to replace it with chevron flooring to give the home a more elegant, luxury look.
The goal was to make the main rooms feel warmer and more premium, without changing the overall layout of the apartment.
Site Visit & Planning
The Nova Floor team first visited the apartment to see it in person. They measured every room, checked the floor condition, and looked at areas near wardrobes and doors.
The team also talked with the client about the chevron pattern angle, the direction of the planks, and how the skirting should match the new floor. These points were fixed early, since chevron flooring is hard to change once work starts.
Material Selection
Chevron flooring was picked for good reasons. It has a classic look that stays in style for years. It is also strong and easy to clean, which suits a busy luxury apartment in Dubai.
Installation Process
The old floor was removed first. The team then checked and fixed the levelness of the surface, since even small dips can spoil the chevron pattern.
Next, the chevron planks were laid room by room. Each plank was cut and placed at the right angle so the zigzag pattern matched perfectly. The team checked the alignment often instead of rushing through the work.
After the flooring was done, matching skirting boards were fitted neatly along the walls and corners, giving each room a clean, finished edge.
Challenges
One challenge was keeping the chevron pattern lined up as it moved from one room into another, such as from the living area into the hallway. This needed careful planning.
Cutting the planks around door frames and built-in cabinets also took extra patience, since chevron cuts are trickier than a normal straight floor. The team also worked carefully to protect the walls and furniture while the client was still using parts of the home.
Final Result
Once finished, the apartment looked much better. The chevron pattern ran smoothly through all the connected rooms, and the skirting gave a clean, tidy finish. The space also felt brighter and more open than before.
The client was happy with how closely the final result matched what was discussed during planning, and with the neat finish around the tricky corners.
