Herringbone pattern Flooring Golden Mile 12, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Project Overview

The client owned an apartment at Golden Mile 12, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai and wanted to upgrade the flooring to create a more refined and welcoming interior. The existing floor looked outdated and did not complement the apartment’s modern design. After discussing different options, the client chose herringbone flooring for its timeless appearance and ability to add character to the living spaces.

The main objective was to improve the overall look of the apartment while keeping the existing layout unchanged. The client wanted a floor that would bring warmth, elegance, and long-lasting performance.

Site Visit & Planning

Before starting the work, the Nova Floor team visited the apartment to inspect the existing flooring and take accurate measurements of every room. The condition of the subfloor was checked carefully to ensure it would be suitable for the new installation.

During the planning stage, the team discussed the direction of the herringbone pattern, plank size, and the best starting point for the layout. Special attention was given to transitions between rooms, doorways, and built-in furniture so the pattern would flow naturally throughout the apartment. Matching skirting boards were also selected to complete the final finish.

Material Selection

Herringbone flooring was selected because it combines classic design with modern durability. Its distinctive pattern adds depth and visual interest without overwhelming the space. It is also easy to maintain, making it a practical choice for a luxury apartment in Palm Jumeirah.

The chosen flooring complemented the apartment’s interior style while providing a durable surface suitable for everyday living.

Installation Process

The installation began with the careful removal of the old flooring. Once the existing material was removed, the team inspected the subfloor and carried out any necessary levelling work to create a smooth and stable base.

After preparation was complete, the herringbone planks were installed one section at a time. Every plank was measured, cut, and positioned carefully to maintain the consistent pattern across each room. The installers regularly checked alignment to ensure the design remained straight from the living room through the connecting spaces.

Once the flooring installation was finished, matching skirting boards were fitted neatly along the walls. Final inspections were carried out to ensure every joint, edge, and corner met Nova Floor’s quality standards before the project was completed.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was maintaining perfect alignment of the herringbone pattern through connected rooms and narrow passageways. Even small measurement errors could affect the overall appearance, so the team worked carefully throughout the installation.

Additional attention was required when fitting the flooring around door frames, fixed cabinets, and other permanent features. Precise cutting and careful finishing helped achieve a clean and seamless result while protecting the surrounding walls and interior finishes.

Final Result

The completed flooring transformed the apartment into a brighter and more elegant living space. The herringbone pattern added texture and sophistication while creating a natural flow between the rooms.

The neatly installed skirting boards and precise finishing details gave the apartment a polished appearance. The client was pleased with both the craftsmanship and the way the finished flooring reflected the original design discussed during the planning stage.
