About This Project
Nova Floor team recently completed an SPC flooring project at Apt. 104 in The Crest, Sobha Hartland Tower. The apartment owner wanted a flooring upgrade that could handle everyday wear, resist moisture, and still look clean and modern. The old flooring had started to show scratches and wear marks near the kitchen and balcony entrance, which made the client start looking for a more durable option.
Site Inspection
Before any work began, our team visited the apartment for a full site inspection. We checked the subfloor for moisture, unevenness, and any cracks that needed attention. We also measured the rooms, hallway, and balcony area to plan the layout and work out how much material would be needed.
Why SPC Flooring Was Chosen
After discussing the client’s lifestyle and priorities, SPC flooring came out as the best fit. The apartment has a small kitchen area and a balcony that gets occasional water exposure, so waterproofing was important. SPC also holds up well against daily foot traffic and does not warp or swell the way some other flooring types can. The client liked the wood look finish too, since it matched the interior style without needing real timber upkeep.
Preparation Work
Once the material was confirmed, our team got to work on preparation. The old flooring was removed, and the subfloor was cleaned and leveled. Small dips and rough patches were filled in so the new planks would sit flat and stay stable over time. We also let the SPC planks acclimate to room temperature before installation, which helps prevent movement later on.
Installation
Installation was done room by room, starting from the living area and moving through to the bedroom and kitchen. The click lock planks were laid in a staggered pattern for a natural look and better structural strength. Our installers paid close attention to the cuts around doorways, the balcony threshold, and corners, so the finish looked neat and consistent throughout.
Skirting and Finishing
Once the flooring was down, we moved on to skirting. New skirting boards were fitted along the walls to cover expansion gaps and give the room a finished, tidy edge. This step also protects the flooring edges from bumps and everyday knocks.
Final Cleanup
After installation, the team cleaned the apartment thoroughly, removing dust, offcuts, and packaging material. Every plank was checked again for gaps or loose edges before the final walkthrough with the client.
The Result
The difference in the apartment was clear right away. The new SPC flooring gave the space a warmer, more polished look, replacing the worn out old surface. Beyond appearance, the client now has a floor that is fully waterproof, which matters a lot near the kitchen and balcony. SPC is also scratch resistant and built to handle daily use without losing its finish. Cleaning is simple too, since the surface only needs regular sweeping and the occasional damp mop, with no special products required.
Project Completion
The project was completed on schedule and within the agreed budget. The client walked through the finished apartment and was happy with how the flooring turned out, both in terms of look and everyday practicality. For Nova Floor, this project is another example of how the right flooring choice can make a real difference in a home, not just in appearance but in how easy it is to live with day to day.
